Movie rent to open on a video hosting service YouTube
The corporation Google, which owns the biggest video hosting in the world YouTube, plans to introduce a service to rent movies.
At first, a new service will be offered to the residents of a greater part of Europe and, later, in the U.S. and other countries around the world.
Movie rent will work like a well-known in the U.S. video service Netflix.com, which gives users the opportunity to watch movies at home via the Internet in a streaming video that can not be downloaded.
At the moment, the service contains a catalog of about a thousand movies of any genre.
YouTube can not yet boast of its own movie base, but Google has already gone into the question and provided more than $ 100 million to purchase copyrights to movies from a number of Hollywood studios.
By implementing this service, Google is planning to compete with online giant Amazon.com, which has been actively engaged in the development of online movies. To do this, Amazon bought one of Europe’s largest video rental services, and opened its own cinema to watch movies online.
